This August sees the release of Long Story Short, an eagerly anticipated new series from the team behind Bojack, on which Lisa served as producer.

Together Michael and Martin have built one of the UK’s most successful family entertainment companies with films nominated for four Oscars, and winning four Baftas & four International Emmys.

After promising his mother he’d one day make a film like The Jungle Book, Kevin Lima got his chance in the early nineties, as he set out to make his first Disney feature “a John Hughes movie, in animation.”

That movie was A Goofy Movie and Lima and the team wanted it to hit different to the ‘talking animals movies’ of the day, focusing squarely on the relationship between the much-loved Goofy, and his teenage son Max. However, finding the emotional depth to sustain a film about one of Disney’s best loved slapstick comedians, Goofy, brought with it a set of production challenges the young filmmakers hadn’t anticipated.

Their story is the subject of a brand new documentary, Not Just A Goof, released on Disney Plus for A Goofy Movie’s 30th anniversary.
