Pathways into Animation for 2nd Level Students

Pathways is a free programme for students who are interested in learning more about studying and/or working in animation. It is presented by Cartoon Saloon and Lighthouse Studios in partnership with the National Talent Academy for Animation during the Kilkenny Animated Festival. It will take place on Friday 3rd October 2025 for 2nd level senior cycle students (4th-6th year). 

Based in Cartoon Saloon’s Kilkenny studio and over a half day period (we will have two sessions, a morning and afternoon session), your students will have an opportunity to;

–  Take part in hands-on creative workshop; 

– Learn about the many different career paths in animation directly from people working in the sector; 

– Speak with Colleges offering animation courses

– Have an opportunity to get feedback on their portfolios. 

We will also have information available for teachers/career guidance & youth workers about careers in animation from administration, accounting and IT through to artistic roles. 

This is an invaluable opportunity for teachers and students interested in learning more about careers in Ireland’s growing creative industries sector.
